A Calming, Balanced Presence

Yoga has been a part of Kari’s life since 2001. She began as a power yoga student, loving the strong workout but also seeing how the gently moments of yoga gave her a sense of calm a sense to just be, present with herself. Aware of her breath, aware of the sensations coming up in her own body. Pleasantly surprised to find that yoga could provide so much more than just a powerful workout. A unique practice that took her beyond the physical postures to a place of calm, improving Kari’s ability to quiet internal judgement and allow her to just be, in a way she had never experienced before.

In early 2014 Kari was fortunate to take an early retirement from her corporate career. Given this shift in her life, Kari felt the pull to delve deeper into her Yoga practice.

She began the Yoga Teacher Training and apprenticeship program at Vital Life Center under the tutelage of Jayaprabha, receiving her 200 hr teacher training certificate. She also began attending workshops with National and International trainers such as Tias Little, Ellen Heed, Karen O’Donnell Clarke, Carrie Owerko, Doug Keller, Tari Prinster with whom she has studied the subtle body, yoga anatomy, chair yoga, yoga for cancer and yoga for seniors.

Kari considers yoga a lifetime journey exploring and learning, passing on to all of her students, fellow yogis, a chance to move slowly and take the time to be present even if just for a moment a moment to just be, without judgement, just kindness.
