Jessica Leclerc

Yoga Instructor
Massage Therapist

Jessica took her first yoga class in 2004 and fell in love with how the movement of yoga asana felt in her body. She quickly found that the practice also supported her to break out of her shell and allowed her to be more autonomous and self-directed.

After years of practicing, around 2010, yoga morphed into a lifestyle for Jessica, not just a workout. Additionally, she was inspired to further her study beyond asana through meditation practice, self-inquiry, yogic philosophies and other forms of bhakti yoga.

In 2011 Jessica began an apprenticeship under the guidance of Jayaprabha Mare DiBenigno of the Vital Life Center and was granted a VLC 200-hour teacher training certificate in 2013. While Jessica continues to study under her mentor, she has also been fortunate to learn from a number of national and international yoga instructors, and has been highly influenced by Todd Norian, Tias Little, and Ana Forrest.

Jessica encourages her students to explore their edges yet respect their bodies limitations. She focuses very seriously on alignment and brings a lighthearted, fun atmosphere to the room, striking the balance between focus and play.

In 2013 Jessica was drawn to broaden her ability to serve her students by expanding her knowledge of the body and delving deeper into the holistic field. Hence, she began her journey as a massage therapist with the Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy. "I believe that my yoga practice helped me to develop my skills as a massage therapist. Yoga taught me how to intuitively work with the body and I bring that into every massage I give." Her speciality is a therapeutic full body massage that is customized to target specific needs and issues of each client. Jessica weaves deep specific work with long relaxing strokes in order to help the client achieve results in areas of concern, while leaving the client with a sense of full body connection and deep relaxation. Whether it be recovering from an injury, maintaining healthy muscle tissue or simply just to relax, Jessica is able to customize a session to help her clients to achieve their goals.

In 2015 Jessica was graced with the arrival of her first child, Stella. Her experience as a yoga teacher and massage therapist gave Jessica a wonderful understanding of the pregnant body. "Working with prenatal/postnatal clients is truly one of my favorites. I love helping them to connect with their newly changing bodies as well as the little life residing in them." The arrival of her second child, Leo, has only reinforced the powerful support that both yoga and massage therapy can be to mothers during the amazing and trying time that is motherhood.

Now that Jessica's children are out of infancy she is excited to expand her practice. This motivated her to recently complete a Thai Yoga Massage Workshop. This marriage of yoga and massage is the perfect first step to kick off her intention to add modalities, offer new types of massage, and teach more yoga classes and workshops.
