Vital Life Center Kirtan

 

Join Jayaprabha and a variety of special guests from around the world.

Kirtan is a fun, interactive, and devotional musical event. We repeat simple melodies in a lively call and response style supporting a divine connection with our heart and spirit. It is an easy way for even a new practitioner to experience a very deep and blissful meditative state. The positive vibration in the music along with the group energy is catchy and will uplift even the quiet spectator.

Power Vinyasa 6 Week Series

Thursday, 8/2 ~ 6:00-7:15 pm

A power practice intermingled with a therapeutic approach is utilized to mobilize stagnant energy within the body, open up energy channels and restore balance to the nervous system. This is done through consciously moving in and out of poses designed to strengthen the body and mind; coupled with the use of props for supported poses. The aim of the class is to both stimulate and balance the Yin and Yang energies of our nervous system.

Hanumanasana - It's all in the Legs!

 

Let’s connect through our legs, to the fine tune balance of power and surrender that the practice of Hanumanasana invokes. Through the month of August we will use the Prajna Yoga Class time slot to prepare our bodies and minds to explore Split Pose in a humble and supported manner. The legs along with the spirit are bound to be strengthened and released, invigorated and relaxed, stabilized and opened.

Yoga Basics is an introduction to the building blocks of yoga, emphasizing basic postures, breathing techniques and relaxation skills. This class promotes balance, flexibility, strength and stress release. It is great for those new to yoga or students who would like a refresher on the basics.

Chair Yoga 6 Week Series ~ Approachable For All Bodies

Tuesday, 8/28 ~ 4:45-5:45 pm

You’d love to take a yoga class, but getting up and down on a mat is a challenge, you have limited balance or mobility, your knees are tender, or you are recovering from an injury, come on over and pull up a chair!

Chair Yoga is an accessible form of yoga for any age group. In this class, we will use the chair as a prop to help modify the poses while maintaining all the benefits of yoga including: stress relief, increased energy, strength, muscle tone, balance, deepened breath capacity and overall health.

This class can also provide training for office workers to utilize at their desk, and is a great way to share a yoga class with a parent or grandparent. No previous yoga experience needed. Reserve your spot today!

The Gentle class is designed for students interested in a slower, but equally effective practice. You will experience gently held postures and breathing techniques that calm the mind, relax the body, and improve joint health and flexibility. This is the class for times of high stress or low energy. It is great for beginners, seniors,  experienced students, or anyone seeking a gentle and meditative practice.

Befriending Your Mind - Intro Meditation

6 wk series begins Thursday, 9/6 ~ 6:00-7:15 pm

Drawing from the latest research in neuroscience on meditation's ability to positively change the brain, this course will provide tools to honestly and compassionately relate with your mind.  These techniques that reshape the brain will help to steady your mind, reduce stress, notice the positive, and heal painful experiences which promote a life of balance, peace and joy.  

Drop-ins are not permitted in this class.

A CD set will be available for purchase, which participants will be invited to listen to throughout the series.
